🚫 What to Avoid:
❌ Perfumes & Lotions – Avoid spraying directly onto your jewellery. Apply beauty products first, then wear your jewellery.
❌ Hot Tubs, Pools & Chemicals – Exposure to chlorine and harsh chemicals can affect the shine and longevity of your jewellery.
❌ High Heat & Steam – Saunas, steam rooms, and excessive heat can impact certain metals over time.
✨ How to Clean Your Jewellery
✔ Wash Gently – Use mild soap and warm water (dish soap & a soft toothbrush work best).
✔ Polish Regularly – Clean your jewellery with a LinQed polishing cloth or a soft microfibre cloth to maintain its shine.
✔ Store with Care – When not wearing your jewellery, keep it in a dry, safe place away from humidity.
✨ Memorial Jewellery Care
General Care Advice
To help preserve the clarity and finish of your resin charm, we recommend avoiding prolonged or repeated exposure to:
- Saltwater and chlorinated water
- Cleaning products and household chemicals
- Perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and cosmetics
- Sunbeds and prolonged direct UV exposure
These substances can cause resin to cloud, dull, or discolour over time.
Caring for Welded Jewellery (That Cannot Be Removed)
We understand that welded jewellery is designed to be permanent, so removing it isn’t always an option. If your piece is welded, we recommend the following:
- Cover your charm with a plaster, medical tape, or soft fabric band when swimming, showering, cleaning, or using skincare products.
- When applying lotions, perfumes, or SPF, apply them first and allow them to fully absorb before uncovering your jewellery.
- Rinse gently with clean, fresh water if accidental exposure to saltwater, chlorine, or chemicals occurs, and pat dry with a soft cloth.
These small steps can significantly reduce the risk of long-term discolouration.
Caring For Your Resin Charm
- Clean only with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth
- Avoid polishing cloths, ultrasonic cleaners, or chemical jewellery cleaners
- Do not scrub or use abrasive materials
- when not wearing, please store in an airtight box or bag - prefereably with an anti-tarnish cloth present (these can be purchaed at low cost online)
Long-Term Care & Maintenance
Resin is durable but, like all materials, it can naturally change over time. This is part of the journey of a well-loved piece. If your charm ever appears dull or cloudy, we offer a resin re-coating service to help refresh and restore its appearance.
A Gentle Reminder
Your memorial jewellery is designed to be worn close, not kept away. While care is important, occasional exposure to everyday elements won’t harm it — mindfulness rather than perfection is key.
