Common Questions

FAQs

Will I experience any discomfort during the jewellery welding process?

Not at all! The process is completely safe and painless. A small protective shield is used for safety, and the welding itself only takes a second.

Is it possible to remove permanent jewellery?

Yes! While your piece is designed to be permanent, it can be easily removed if needed. Simply cut it at the welded point using scissors or wire cutters. If you’d like it reattached, we offer a re-welding service.

Can a clasp be added if required?

Absolutely! We understand that some people prefer removable jewellery, or require this for work or lifestyle purposes, which is why we offer an optional clasp-fitting service on all our pieces. It comes with a small additional charge but gives you the flexibility of a traditional style. This can be done at any point.

Is my jewellery likely to break?

Our jewellery is created using high-quality, durable materials and is designed to be worn and enjoyed every day. With proper care, your piece should last a long time. That said, like all fine jewellery, it isn’t indestructible. If a piece is accidentally caught, pulled, or subjected to excessive force, it may break - most commonly at the welded point, which is intentionally the weakest area.

At Linqed by Lisa, we’re happy to offer a 12-month complimentary re-weld for any breakages that occur at the original weld point.

If a break occurs elsewhere along the chain, a repair fee may apply, and this will always be discussed with you openly before your appointment.

Loss Policy:

We offer a 14-day goodwill cover for loss of welded jewellery. After this period, as loss can occur due to factors outside of our control such as accidental catching, impact, or individual lifestyle - we’re unable to accept responsibility for lost pieces. Any replacements after this time will be subject to a recharge.

Will I need to remove my jewellery for airport security?

No! Permanent jewellery is made from precious metals and will not set off airport security alarms (I have tried and tested this myself!) So be assured, you can travel with ease knowing your piece stays with you.

What if I need to remove my jewellery for a medical procedure?

Most medical professionals will ask you to remove all metal jewellery before procedures like MRIs. In these cases, you may need to cut the piece off and have it re-welded later. Contact me to arange a removal appointment or for guidence on how to do this safely at home. If done correctly, we can reweld at a later date.

If you expect to undergo frequent medical procedures, you may prefer a clasped version for easy removal.

What are Opals and How do they affect your pieces?

Crushed opals are finely ground pieces of natural and lab-created opal that are carefully set into memorial jewellery, often alongside ashes, hair, or other sentimental inclusions. They add a soft shimmer and depth of colour to a piece, enhancing its beauty while remaining subtle and elegant.

In memorial jewellery, crushed opals can add light, colour, and movement to your pieces. commonly used to highlight and protect the inclusions, they are used to create a balanced and visually harmonious design rather than overpowering the sentimental elements.

Many people choose opals for their symbolism, as they are often associated with hope, love, healing, and remembrance.

The natural play of colour within crushed opals reflects light differently from every angle, making each piece truly unique. This adds depth and individuality to memorial jewellery, while helping to create a calming, comforting finish that feels personal and meaningful.
